Early Experiments in Generative Art

3D Transformations, Collision Detection, Flow Fields and Path Following

I am an evangelist for the open source java framework Processing, it’s how I learned to code. These are just some sketches I’ve made throughout the years, building off of tutorials and examples, adding my own ideas and trying to see if they can go somewhere completely different.

Golden Flow Field

Github Code
Flowfield with an LFO attached.

Green, Green Grass

Audio-reactive 3D vectors made to look like grass. In the summer, suburbia is filled with a constant drone of lawn mowers giving the atmosphere a strange tone that balances between spiritualism and superficiality.

Collision Drawings

Github Code

Particles bombard invisible coordinate parsed from an SVG file, creating an interesting drawn texture.

Path-Following Fractal System

Github Code
Smaller circles follow bigger ones with an underlying fractal algorithm. As their movements are coordinated with digital oscillators.
